Executive Chef Spencer Sykes is the alchemist behind the flavours, aromas, and textures that define Spencer’s Restaurant. He not only brings Michelin-trained expertise to every plate but also owns this cherished culinary establishment.
Alongside him, his wife Lichelle Sykes, a virtuoso baker, creates exquisite freshly baked cakes that are as visually stunning as they are indulgent. Together, they invite diners into a sensorial journey, where passion, precision, and flavour converge in perfect harmony.

Open: Friday night – Sunday afternoon

Spencer’s Restaurant welcomes both overnight guests and day visitors. Due to high demand, we recommend booking in advance to secure your table. Non-residents are warmly invited to contact us ahead of time to check availability and secure a table.
Our Story
The Chef
Spencer’s culinary journey began on the picturesque island of Guernsey, UK, where he refined his craft under the mentorship of a Michelin-starred chef. Returning to South Africa with this wealth of experience, Spencer stepped into the role of Executive Chef, where his meticulous attention to detail and relentless pursuit of excellence transformed his restaurant into a sought-after destination for discerning diners.
The Baker
At Spencer’s, indulgence finds its perfect expression through Lichelle Sykes, Spencer’s wife and the creative force behind the restaurant’s unforgettable cakes. Her craft is rooted in love and tradition, with each cake, rusk, or fudge elevated by her insistence on using only the finest ingredients. Every creation is more than a sweet finale. It’s a sensory celebration that lingers long after the last bite.

Sugar Rush Saturday
On Saturdays at Spencer’s, you can have your cake and eat it too. Our pastry chef offers a line-up of freshly baked cakes that are as decadent as they are sinful. Think layers of velvety sponge, sumptuous creams, and delicate, buttery finishes. Indulgence is mandatory.
Picnics
Savour the simple joys of the bushveld with our delicious pre-packed picnic baskets. Pick your favourite spot on the farm, lay out your spread, and enjoy a leisurely day surrounded by nature.
