At Bass Lake Country Lodge, nature is your playground and the bushveld your backdrop. Wake to birdsong, cast a line for bass or trout, or wander along scenic hiking trails. When it’s time to unwind, lounge by the pool, treat yourself to a soothing spa session, or sip a drink while soaking in the tranquil lake views. At this retreat, there’s something for every pace and every passion.
Please Note: Day visitor rates do not apply to Lodge or Camping guests. They are intended for outside visitors who plan to spend the full day at Bass Lake Country Lodge enjoying fishing or other activities. Guests with restaurant, spa, photoshoot, or picnic bookings are exempt from day visitor rates, provided they stay only for the duration of their booking.

Cast your line into Bass Lake’s waters and enjoy the stillness of the bushveld around you. Our tilapia and bass are catch-and-release and available in the summer, while trout lie waiting in the cool depths of winter.

Day Visitor Hours: Friday – Sunday, 08:00 – 16:00.
Trout: Trout caught in winter must be purchased at R200 p/kg (no catch-and-release)

Spencer’s Restaurant welcomes both overnight guests and day visitors. Due to high demand, we recommend booking in advance to secure your table. Non-residents are warmly invited to contact us ahead of time to check availability and secure a table.

Bookings: Picnics must be booked and paid in full at least 48 hours in advance via info@basslakelodge.co.za or 012 735 1650.
On Arrival: Report to Reception. Your picnic box will be delivered to you.
Additional Beverages: If required, are available for purchase at the Lodge Bar. No self-catering allowed.
Dietary Requirements: Please inform us of allergies or dietary requirements when booking.
Décor: Bring your own flowers or additional décor if desired.

Tiny speedsters, unite! Our go-carts are ready for the kids to zip, zoom, and giggle through the bushveld. R20 per hour.
