Day Visitor Rates
Day visitor rates do not apply to Lodge or Camp guests. They are intended for outside visitors who plan to spend the full day at Bass Lake Country Lodge, enjoying fishing or other activities. Guests with restaurant, spa, photoshoot, or picnic bookings are exempt from day visitor rates, provided they stay only for the duration of their booking.
- Day Visitor Rates: Adults – R150 | Children under 12 – R75 | Bookings are essential.
- Day Visitor Hours: Friday – Sunday, 08:00 – 16:00.
- Food & Drink: Book a picnic or enjoy a delicious meal at our on-site restaurant. Please note that no outside picnics or drinks are allowed.
Fishing
Cast your line into Bass Lake’s waters and enjoy the stillness of the bushveld around you. Our tilapia and bass are catch-and-release and available in the summer, while trout lie waiting in the cool depths of winter.
- Day Visitor Rates: Adults – R150 | Children under 12 – R75 | Bookings are essential.
- Day Visitor Hours: Friday – Sunday, 08:00 – 16:00.
- Trout: Trout caught in winter must be purchased p/kg (no catch-and-release).

Savour the simple joys of the bushveld with our delicious pre-packed picnic baskets. Pick your favourite spot on the farm, lay out your spread, and enjoy a leisurely day surrounded by nature.

From open grasslands and shaded woodlands to serene dams, rustic wooden piers and the ruins of old buildings, the lodge offers endless natural backdrops for unforgettable shots.

Spencer’s Restaurant
Spencer’s Restaurant welcomes both overnight guests and day visitors. Due to high demand, we recommend booking in advance to secure your table. Non-residents are warmly invited to contact us ahead of time to check availability and secure a table.

- Breakfast: 08:00 – 10:00
- Lunch: 12:00 – 15:00

On Saturdays at Spencer’s Restaurant, you can have your cake and eat it too. Our pastry chef offers a line-up of freshly baked cakes that are as decadent as they are sinful.
